Nintendo Wii U commits Seppuku (Hari-Kari) ahead of ‘Switch’ launch

The infamous Wii U is said to be terminated this week in preparation for its little brother Nintendo Switch. We'd like to say we are sorry but come on, we aren't. Personally, I loved the Wii U but it just seemed to fall short on every aspect. (Except Mario Kart 8) There are concerns I have with the "Switch" as well, but we will have to just wait and see how they pan out.

Teeming with potential, Nintendo’s regrettable successor to the popular Wii, never quite found a home with gamers. A console with a touch screen and cumbersome, battery killing gamepad, it seems is just too difficult to develop for. The Wii U lacked the power of Sony and Microsoft’s offerings, as it typically does, but without some serious fandom behind the console it was really doomed from the start. Add to that the truly bizarre design and you’ll see why even the highly-anticipated ‘Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild’ couldn’t save it. Well, maybe if it came out in 2014 when it was announced it could have... just saying.

This will undoubtedly be Nintendo's last swing at the plate to stay current on the console shelf. Mess up here, and its all over, they will have to go the way of SEGA. :(
